Blog 2

In Lesson 2 we look at a number of maps of Alaska. Some are somewhat fanciful (e.g. the Harriman Expedition map) while some have used something other than “distance’ for scale (e.g. the map of the United States shown by the size of the population by state). Other maps have used different types of projections (e.g. Orthographic and Peters projections). We also look at Alaska from the perspective of its comparative size–to the United States and to continents.

Review the maps shown in the Lesson 2 reading assignment. Select 4 maps and and post to the blog an explanation why you found them interesting and why you did or did not like them.
